DO, FAOAO will be presenting: The Use of Medical Self Hypnosis in
the treatment of Neuropathic Pain: A surgeon's Perspective ?
Dr.Scott Fried is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and completed
a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Thomas Jefferson
University Hand Center. He subsequently studied with Dr. James Hunter,
an expert in thoracic outlet injury and surgery. He is the chief
surgeon at The Upper Extremity Institute in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania
and limits his practice to the conservative, alternative, and operative
treatment of upper extremity injury, especially complex nerve injury.
He has lectured and written extensively on these problems and has
authored two books on the subject.
Overall Goals and Objectives:
1. Define and understand neuropathic pain, its origins, and manifestations.
2. Define and understand Medical Self Hypnosis.
3. Learn hypnotic techniques that are cost effective and simple to
implement.
4. Learn how to facilitate a positive interaction between doctor
and patient.
